Tips for making your eyebrows perfect

Posted by tehreem On March - 22 - 2008 ADD COMMENTS

Eyebrows can make you or break you, it’s as simple as that ladies. Sometimes they look amazing for no apparent reasons, while other times they resemble the impact of a car crash: it’s terrible you know, but you just can’t stop looking! So whether the problem is over-tweezing, not tweezing enough, or just tweezing the wrong way, your eyebrows will come out with a weird comma or those nasty sperm shapes and will completely ruin your look! Eyebrows make a huge difference for your face and you can go from blah to dazzling in just a few minutes with the right tips for getting those perfect eyebrows.

If You Have Uneven, Patchy Eyebrows…

Your problem lies in the way you tweeze, obviously. Patchy brows are just uneven and need a more consistent shape. So how do you get it? You need to bring a little definition to your brows. So go get a magnifying mirror and analyze your brows. See where they need a little more definition. If the base of your brows are bushy, start plucking in order to thin out that base to reveal a sexy, curved arch. Clean up the edges, and make sure to remove all strays that are a half-inch beyond the outer corner of the eyes. Cover up any gaps by applying a tiny bit of brown eyeshadow or powder. And now, you have beautiful, perfectly shaped and defined brows!

If Your Brows Are Overplucked

If you’re one of those that just can’t get enough plucking, it is time to stop, seriously. You’ll end up with nothing woman! Your eyebrows probably look skinny and unbalanced. Fix this problem by using a good brow pencil and filling in any gaps that you might see. Remember to even out both of them, in order to create the illusion of symmetry. Stroke a little bit of brow powder to minimize any bald spots. If you just can’t wait for new hair to grow in, you can also try a growth-enhancing gel. Fuller brows will complement your face as well as slim it down, trust me.

If Your Brows Are Overgrown…

If you’re one of those that doesn’t even own a pair of tweezers, then we need to talk! Bushy brows can take over your face! So start by trimming above and below the brow bone in order to get rid of that extra hair that’s been sitting there. Then pluck below the arch to define the shape. Keep the hair in place by using a little bit of clear mascara, it really works! Now that your overgrown eyebrows are nice and trimmed, your cheekbones will stand out a lot more!

If Your Brows Slope Down…

Eyebrows that slope downward are usually untouched and allll natural. Well you need to do something about that and fast! Start by combing your brows downward and trimming any hairs that fell below the arch. This is basically the biggest problem, and you’ve just eliminated it! Enhance the brows’ definition by tweezing underneath the highest points of the arches, which added much lift. Continue by applying a highlighter under the brow bone to brithten up her eye area.

If Your Brows Are Sparse…

People with sparse eyebrows usually have slight, straight-across eyebrows. Well, that’s pretty boring and it just doesn’t do justice for your face! Start by finding your perfect arch by lining up a pencil with the outer edge of your iris and marking that spot. You must do this for each brow as they are not identical. Finish off by brushing on some pomade. You can now rest easy and enjoy your newly sculpted brows.

If Your Brows Are Hooked…

Hooked eyebrows are arches that hook too close to the inner corner of the eyes. Quickly fix this problem by tweezing a straight line from the base of your brows up to the arches. This is they key top opening up your face. Use a kohl pencil to smooth out the overall shape of your brows.

Australia’s duck fashion show

Walks like a duck, talks like a duck, dresses like a duck — it must be Australia’s duck fashion show.

Behatted ducks in pink, green and yellow outfits waddled down the catwalk in the Pied Piper Duck Show at one of Australia’s most famous annual country festivals.

Brian Harrington, who runs the show, believes his feathered models are just as talented as their human counterparts, and completely under-appreciated.

Charu Parashar’s fall 2008 collection for India Fashion Week in New Delhi on Sunday was chock full of fusion items. Parashar’s favorite mixture was intense Indian outfits made of extravagant French brocades and other European prints.

By her own admission, Parashar believes in “taking exotic Indian craftsmanship and ancient printing techniques to the level of luxury.” This is certainly what she did with her show.

Using fabrics such as velvets, chanderis, organzas, benarasi georgettes and nets, Parashar showcased many items ranging from a printed hot-pant jump suit to a high-necked embroidered jacket. The jacket was particularly attractive, made of brocade that might have fallen out of Marie Antoinette’s closet.

But where her collection really got attention was in her Indian pieces. Taking the design of a simple sari and piecing it together from several different types of brocades and ornate embroideries, Parashar used the styles of katcha resham embroidery, gold foil printing, peetal and gota to top off the luxurious look of her ethnic wear.

Guzel, the Turkish word for “beautiful” was the name of Puja Arya’s fall 2008 collection at India Fashion Week . An appropriate name for the collection, as it took its main inspirations from Turkish patterns, fabrics and design.

Models swished down the runway in an array of light chiffons and cottons. Though the collection was for fall and winter, the outfits were obviously meant for Mediterranean wear. Short dresses with large yoked necks were one theme of the show. Cotton off-white fabrics embroidered or printed with large, black flowers were predominant. Babydoll dresses with flounced skirts were also a favorite on the runway. The color palette for these was turquoise blues mixed with creams and blacks.

A few long, chiffon dresses were also in vogue, a particular favorite being an airy green dress with a wide black belt. Another range of items came in a burnt orange color with all-over gold printing or embroidery.

Imagine being Manish. Your signature shock-value art deco style is something that people are getting used to and so for your fall 2008 collection, you need something big, something outrageous, something as intense as war. And then it occurs to you, that’s what you’re gonna give ‘em: war.

As is evident, Manish Arora’s fall collection for India fashion week in New Delhi on Friday was filled with different suits of armor. Inspired by warrior fashions from around the world, Arora showcased shapes and forms derived from knights, Samurais and modern military gear, tempered with a sprinkling of Disney characters embroidered with sequins into the mesh and metal.

The ramp itself set the tone for the show, with the models emerging from the mouth of a glittering warrior mask. This same mask adorned each of the models as they strutted their spiked and shackled boots and jackets down the runway. The show started with a Roman-inspired piece, a short skirt made out of flaps of copperish metal, topped with a full breastplate of steel etched with copper carvings. The show went on to present several such martial items, though some of the highlights were the playful long coats emblazoned with Mickey Mouse in a helmet, and Goofy in a knight’s suit of armor, wielding a sword, ready for battle.

Govind kicked off her collection with a series of short dresses all made from traditional Indian silk sari patterns. The solid black with red and white prints were absolutely reminiscent, as her show title said, of pigeons and kites, especially with her Gujurati dyes and Ikkat weaves. The textures of the several different types of saris Govind blended made for a truly inspired contemporary Indian look, particularly when she paired a babydoll-like kurta in the same Ikkat weave with a bright red churidar.
